 40 minute solos, 60 minute songs, 3 hour performances plus encores, a mix of so many kinds of music plus a touch of mythology and skillful lyrical writing, a guitar god, a drummer legend, a musical genius and one of the most skilled rock singers ever. This my friends is the forumla to one of the greatest bands ever to grace this planet. Music so precise that they rarely invited other musicians to play one of their songs with them. Music so meaningful they allmost didn't release Led Zeppelin IV because the record companies wouldn't let them release a nameless album (which they did anyway.) A band so wrapped up in the music that they allways improvised solos into songs, causing them to go 10, 20 or sometimes 50 minutes longer. A band so perfectly combined that they refused to replace the drummer (John Bonham) when he died. Listening to them, you can hear hints of other kinds of music, it can be jazzy, mellow or just plain hard rock. Easily one of my favourite bands, ever since I was 3 I've listened to Led Zeppelin, and enjoyed every minute of it. Any other fans? posted by hungarian kid |

You've gotta look at the routes of all the heavy metal today, they go back fairly far but Led Zeppelin was a huge turning point, inspiring bands like Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden. Besides, have you even heard much Led Zeppelin Pawny? posted by hungarian kid |

Kashmir is a great, one of my favourite songs and kinda heavy. Friends has alot of Synth, might like it. Immigrant Song is just raw energy. Most the songs for Led Zeppelin III are either played with Banjo or Acoustic, so some songs you can imagine them playing on a porch in a swamp. Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp is a great example of it. posted by hungarian kid |
