»Best albums«

Name the best music albums you have ever heard.
• The whole album must be great, not only single songs
• At least 5 years old = Must have proven its lasting quality
• No rap/hip hop

Love the "NO RAP/HIP HOP" at the end, I must be honest to say I've never heard a great Hip Hop album.

Metallica - S & M
Rammstein - Mutter
Led Zeppelin - Remasters

which one of the Rammstein albums is better? I'm presuming Mutter is actually the better one...

Oh and:

David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars

The Smiths - The Best Of

Propellerheads - Desckandrumsandrockandroll

Garbage - Garbage

Foo Fighters - The Colour and The Shape

(Was going to add - Natalie Imbruglia 'Left Of The Middle' - but although the album is fantastic I cannot stand the song 'Torn'!)

How about...

Mint royale - On the ropes
Orbital - Middle of nowhere
Allanis Morrisette - jagged little pill
Greenday - Nimrod
Chemical brothers - Dig your own hole

David Bowie - Heathen

Rammstein - Sehnsucht

Mutters better then Herzeleid, but Sehnsucht is about as good as Mutter. They're all pretty different, so it's hard to determine.

Mutter is actually their worst effort by far, IMHO.

My favorite is Herzeleid.

Despair!

I despair of anyone who can put David Bowie's recent offering of 'Heathen' as one of the best albums ever. Bowie is nothing like as good as he used to be and his new stuff is appalling!

These two are good albums but I'd hardly call them the best ever. Depends on your personal tastes I guess. Must admit that I do own and enjoy listening to both these albums:
Alanis Morrisette - jagged little pill
Chemical brothers - Dig your own hole

The problem with these two albums is that the albums are supposed to have NO bad tracks. There are plenty of dud songs on the Trainspotting album and if the Strangler's greatest hits contains 'golden brown' then you can disqualify that straight away!

The Stranglers - Greatest Hits 1977-1990
