Well if i'm honest i'm after Doom3 and the new M.Night Shamalamadingdong movie 'The Village' I'm getting both on emule but they are taking an age, i was wondering if Bittorrent would be better as i've heard it can be pretty fast. posted by Crossfade |

people are dld it at a time and how many have the whole thing dl'd and are seeded... also what site are you finding these .torrent files? i found a few but nothing of any worth...except every sienfeld episode...which you may not be interested in...if you are though do a search and i put the link on another thread already... posted by The ONEder Man |

you start the download and depending on how many people have already dl'd and still have that window open on their comp is how fast it dl'ds...you get bits and pieces from everyone who has the file but can only get the entire thing if someone who has the entire thing still has their window open after they finish called a "seeder"...the other thing i learned is that most sites try to get you to keep the window open as long as possible so more people can get it from you...if you have to stop dl'ding for some reason (comp freezes etc...) you can start where you left off... just open the file like normal but save it to the exact folder you were before and bittorrent will read the files you already have and start where it left off... and the only other info i have is if you want to be a seeder and help people out after you download but you've closed the window, just go to that file and open it up and it will keep the window open so people can upload it from you... posted by The ONEder Man |

One problem i have is that when you start a dld it sits there for a while and then an error pops up saying it can connect to a tracker, reading the faq says just ignore these as it's not important. It all seems a bit complicated compaired to emule Also i'm getting the links from suprnova.org, nice site with loads of links posted by Crossfade |
