Tiefling:
Not allowed to spill the beans, , that would violate the NDA.

I know you can't give specific details...but, what is your general impression of the game so far. Does it just flat-out suck? Is the potential even there for this to be a great game? Is this game going to be a huge dissapointment?

I beta'd it about 3 months ago. At that point, the game flat-out sucked. I guess the environment itself was pretty realistic. All other aspects blew.

I actually quit beta-ing because I didn't want to become disillusioned with a very unfinished game. I didn't think that was fair of me.

Matrix Rescheduled

zesja:
Every time they set a release date they change it

Has anyone been countin the times it was put back?

It might emerge on it's sixth reload White laugh

Something that struck me when I watched the preview (from the DVD box set).

The environment didn't look as good as earlier demo movies, the textures seemed less defined and somehow flatter, the whole thing looked kinda boxy

Now the apparant lack of detail could be down to one or more of the following;

- There was less detail - they decided to cut back on detail to improve performance
- They were playing the demo with lower settings to improve performance
- It was the same but seeing it on DVD showed up the flaws more
- I'm just tainted after playing HL2 White laugh

Screenshots really don't give the full picture of how a game looks, with the detail up high a game can look amazing and the screens would never betray the fact it's running 3 FPS I learned something new, I guess

Also on the dvd preview the clothing of the players looked awful and so out of place for "The Matrix" and even the whole color scheme looked drab and depressing White laugh

just became a beta tester.

all i have to do is download all this stuff, which is taking forever...damn dial-up, ill probably bring in my computer to work tomorrow to download everything.

i was at gamestop looking at games and just decided to go ahead and reserve it. i was told the new release date is may 31 now. but, when you reserve the game (which is only $5) you get an invite to be a beta tester, you get a three day early entry into MxO before the rest of the public gets it, and you get to start out with an advanced level hyper-jump ability! pretty cool stuff.

if you have an extra $5 laying around, and you live in the US, i would recommend reserving it.

Yeah, I saw that the other day, too. Unfortunately, my home computer is on the fritz. So...that's that, I guess.

I think one thing we should read into the numerous delays is how connected the Wachowski's are to this. They are known for being sticklers for attention to detail. In fact, a friend of a friend of a friend(he's a gaming insider) told me they were very upset w/the lack of polish w/"Enter the Matrix" and were willing to push the date of release back to get it the way they wanted...Warner Bros. disagreed.

Perhaps, they saw what happened there and decided that it wasn't going to happen again w/MxO. Set your George Michael free

...i have heard from three beta testers and unfortunately they ALL said this game sucks large style, it looks great for about thirty minutes then gets boring REALLY fast.

Looks like we should wait and see some proper reviews and then make our minds up.

how much would you pay to play MeX?

if it's more than a grand then you are more dedicated than I. Meaning I need to buy a new computer to even be able to play this game. You don't know how close I've come to making that very decision. I wanna play this game like no other, but can I consciously buy the computer just to play? What? When? Where? Why?

this sucks...
