knn: But knowing what happens next year is different from knowing what happens in 100 years. Haha, how on Earth or anywhere else could you possibly know that? There is also the comparable idea of the universe being self-similar, as a fractal pattern or the appearance of rock; it looks basically the same at any level, on any scale. Thus, if the universe is built on space-time, perhaps time itself is also self-similar, and that the far future is similar enough to the near future that reasonably accurate predictions can be made (by the hypothetical Seer) on any level, on any scale. Unless you can tell me exactly how you know that Seeing one year in the future is easier than Seeing one century into the future, I'm not going to assume anything. 8) posted by annaerullo |
