Miyamoto is responsible for Zelda, Metroid, Mario, F Zero and was the first person to invent the platform game (Donkey Kong). He's an absolute genius! Anyone here have a gamecube? posted by fatpie42 |

Heh, yeah I got the GameCube. I've always stuck with Nintendo as my first console, Shigeru is a true genius when it comes to games. I pre-ordered Zeld WW so I could get the bonus disc etc. But it turns out they were just gonna sell WW with the bonus disc anyway, but I still thought it better that I could just walk in, grab it, go home and play it. The new Zelda game looks awesome. And we can never forget the countless brilliant Mario games, all of them either slightly or completely addictive. Even though Rare moved to XBox, Nintendo still owns the rights to Donkey Kong so that's a plus for GameCube. Maybe Nintendo will better then Rare at making the Kong games (Kong 64 was a bit of a let down.) posted by hungarian kid |

He invented the jump n' run genre. As far as I know he's some kind of project coordinator at Nintendo. all Mario games, Starwing, Zelda - Links Awakening, F-Zero, Donkey Kong,... I really loved that shit when I was 8 years or so. posted by anonymyus |

Mario 64 is the best adventure game of its time in structure, graphics, storyline and gameplay, even consol. The N64 controller rules! I mean it was 1996 and that was way ahead of its time in is graphics.64bits.damn.It maybe the best adventure/platform game all round to this day. posted by BaDboYDC_101 |

I still think my favourite game of all time is Zelda: The Ocarina Of Time. I think it'll be quite a while before I ever see a game which is so fulfilling as that was... posted by fatpie42 |

i actually agree with fatpie...that's a miracle in itself although i still prefer a link to the past...just for the nostalgic feeling when i first got ocarina i played it for 19 hours without so much as going for a piss...top stuff... i was a bit underwhelmed by wind waker though...the final battle seemed to easy...entertaining...but not magnificent posted by the anomaly |

I'd never played a Zelda Game befor Ocarina of Time so I had no idea what they were like. The day it came out, I hired it out, the next day I bought it it was so awesome. Reminded me of the awesome RPGs like the Secret of Mana and just made me feel like I was playing a good ol' Snes game with more than adequate graphics. It keeps a strong Replayability value like alot of Snes RPGs aswell. MasterQuest was a brilliant idea, playing the same old game but harder and different puzzles, BRILLIANT! Bit of trivia about Shigeru Miyamato - He enjoys gardening and playing the banjo. HA, gives you an idea on where he gets his ideas for strangely coloured blobs and bouncing flowers. Mario was based on an Italian Plumber he knew called... Mario. posted by hungarian kid |

Only flaw with the N64 controller was the joy stick, it fucks up after over-use, just becomes harder and harder to work. The controls were a tad bit smaller than I would've liked too. posted by hungarian kid |

Na, only if u abuse it waaay 2 much and most games don't call for that. I've had mine for 8 years and it still controlls fine! Also, the controller size was just right unless u got oversized hands or sumtin posted by BaDboYDC_101 |
