One of the things I would do is abolish summer time (daylight saving time). Summer time was introduced a couple of years ago to standarize days, but I don't like this nonsense. posted by knn |

 knnknn: One of the things I would do is abolish summer time (daylight saving time). I'd vote for this, We all have to change our clocks twice a year so farmers can get up at the same time every day. Or at least that was the reason we were told it happens. OK my contribution. I would choose somewhere with decent weather (so not the Armpit of Europe) and would give it crinkly edges (Fjords?) to maximise the number of beaches. I would also consider adopting the Spanish day - Work in the morning, afternoon snooze, work in the evening. This would mean people on a bender the night before would only need to pull a half day sicky, rather than the full day.

 ..it already exists, it's called Malta and we should INVADE IT RIGHT NOW *packs case* Seriously, i would just have lots of countryside, way better than bloody concrete everywhere. Large mountains to look nice and for people to climb(beats building leasure centres, throw them up a montain to get fit!) and have all factories outside of populated areas... Holy cow i've been playing Sim City3 waaay too much

Do we need streets? Without the problem of an inherited infrastructure - which is what we're talking about here right? - we can design a public transport system from the ground up. I've always liked the idea of that Japanese personal transport system, though have no idea how well it works. posted by Marl64 |
