 Today I invented a new term "Love beyond recognition". It sounds good to me, but I have no idea what it could mean and how I could use it. Any ideas? posted by knn |

 Love => So it's something to do with Love, Beyond Recognition => Would not be recognised as love In fact so much so that it would be interrpretted as something else. Generic enough? You could use it for S&M ? The act to a casual observer might be perceived as cruel. Or perhaps that whacky hostage / kidnapper love thing. Or maybe a justification for Murdering a loved one to spare them suffering. posted by Marl64 |

 I like Crossfade's suggestion. It would mean that you've found a love that is transcendent. It shatters all the boundaries and expectations that come with falling in love. posted by GP |

For me it would mean something like being in love so much that you don't actually recognise it as "being in love". All ordinary signs of infatuation (e.g. fast heart beating, dreams, low appetite, insomia, whatever) are not necessarily there. You simply know that that person is the one you've been looking for, the match. You might not recognize as "love", 'cause it's something special, and only because there is no other word that could describe it you call it "love". posted by mymla |

 Love beyond all recognition could be like some kind of 'super love'. None of the effects that you'd normally get with standard love, but completely different stuff. Instead of your heartbeat speeding up, it could just slowly slow down and eventually just stop
