Please note that these are solo artists, except for Eddie Van Halen and John Petrucci. I have another poll for guitar players that are in rock bands. Eddie Van Halen and John Petrucci are so good that they are very well above that category and are here with the great guitar gods.

What's wrong with having a corpse decaying around?

Why only alive?

Because if I open it up to dead people, Jimi Hendrix is obviously gonna take all the votes. Not that he's not amazing, but he's way too famous.

Brian May was in Queen.

Trick this

There is a trick stop that from happening. Make a multi-choice poll and maximum 2 votes. This way you prevent to make this poll invalid if some of your mentioned guitar players die.

Yep but he's also a solo artist.

Brian May

I'll think about it. I somehow don't think he's quite at the same level as Satriani or Vai. I'll have to decide. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thumb Up

Why waver?

Call me stupid, but isn't that what the poll is about? To find out people's opinion? Brian is a famous guitar player. That's enough to add him to the poll, I think.

Fame and Talent

You should know that fame doesn't necessarily equal talent. Brian May is quite famous alright, but I don't think he has the same level of skill as Satriani, Vai, or Petrucci have. If you get your hands on "Flying in a Blue Dream" by Joe Satriani and a Queen album (or a Brian May solo one), you'll be able to hear the difference. But I'll add him anyway.

Agreed, but some voter may think. Why do you want to limit your poll?

Have you ever went to a G3 concert?

Or watched one on DVD or TV?

You'll see how wrong you are.
