volonteshiva: Now what I have a slight problem here with is rejected a girl soley based on the fact that she has tatoos, be them many or few. Did you mean "a girl who is rejected solely..."? Rejected by society, or by a guy? If it's a guy, than I would say that it is just as much the guy's choice to reject the girl because of her tatoos, just as much as it is the girl's choice to get the tatoos done. If you were talking about society, society could reject anyone, regardless of tatoos or not. So I don't really see a relevance here. posted by nocturnal_anonymous |

I agree with volonteshiva. A girl shouldn't be rejected by a guy simply because she has a tattoo. But it's more than that - no one should be rejected by anything as superficial as the way they look. Of course, saying that it shouldn't happen isn't going to stop anything. We all make some judgements based on what we see. Anyways, I realize that there are also religious reasons for rejecting a person with a tattoo. I disagree with it, but it is certainly understandable. So you are right, Nocturnal, a guy has the right to make the choice. But I still think that the best thing to do is to try to look past what you see on the outside, and discover the person on the inside. I think that's what VS's point was. posted by Nianza |

Nianza: Of course, saying that it shouldn't happen isn't going to stop anything. We all make some judgements based on what we see. And this is MY point. That's why I didn't really see the relevance of that particular statement V made. Because it's going to happen anyway, regardless of what we think or say. posted by nocturnal_anonymous |

Yes, it is his choice to reject a tatooed girl, but that doesn't mean he isn't a moron if that is his only reason for doing so. However, I am not exactly referring to someone with 70+% of their body tatooed. Nor even 20%. Just someone with one or two tatoos, perhaps one being large on their back. If a guy finds a girl that he think is awesome and then sees the tatoo on her back and rejects her, then I think that is a moron... This really relates closer to someone one knows. If I know a guy that rejects a girl for just a small tatoo, then I will chastize that man strongly. Now, if she is 80% covered in tatoos, then I would be alot more lenient. posted by volonteshiva |

I see. I don't understand your reasoning, though. Isn't it reasonable to express an opinion about something that will never happen? Like.. umm.. world peace.. yeah. You see my point. Simply ain't gonna happen. Well, unless you're talking about a next world... but that's beside the point. o_O;; Or... I think everyone should quit being closed-minded, draw down their defenses, and argue constructively instead of destructively. Is it gonna happen? Hell no. posted by Nianza |
