Yes, this is a dragon made just by folding paper! Showcasing a renaissance in the ancient Japanese art of origami, some of the best paper-folders in the world descended on Tokyo on Friday for a three-day competition and convention to celebrate the artistic possibilities of origami, which is believed to have been used to create sacred ornaments at the Grand Shrines of Ise, the center of Japan's native shinto religion [CLICK HERE TO VIEW THIS PICTURE] posted by knn |

Incredible, all the scales and the head are so delicately shown.. I find these arts that require a lot of patience and delicate work, have a profound effect on the character of the artist - they are more patient and enduring, I guess due to the long hours they put in at practice or production. Too bad the news story links are dead after awhile The only origami that I know is the usual boxes and chairs and frogs and stuff. This is too cool posted by ryder |

in my unpublished manuscript "the origami conspiracy" i present evidence that origami did not exist before world war 2 when it was invented by american intelligence agents as a secret plan to convince people that orientals were disposable like paper that is, the americans want you to think you can make an animal out of folded paper and that is how orientals evolved in japan and china by folding paper until they could walk on two legs but during the war word got out about origami among american troops in the pacific theater and they thought it was true that orientals were made out of folded paper so the americans tried lighting japanese prisoners on fire by touching one of their toes with a burning match to see if they would burst into flame like paper it didn't work but when japanese prime minister tojo was imprisoned by the americans awaiting trial after the war he would always fold his toilet paper into little origami cranes and wipe his ass with them to show his contempt for america and the origami conspiracy that led to his defeat in the war all this has been covered up you see important people do not want you to know about origami i did not write this i was not here posted by origami_anonymous |
