Actually, Jimmy Page is not a really good guitar player. Don't get me wrong, he's alright, but there are tons of better guitar players out there. He just happens to be in one of the greatest bands in history.

I think you should add Adam Jones of Tool to the poll. He definitely gets my vote.

Plus, why are there no death metal/hardcore guitarists on the list? They're often quite talented, although it takes an accustomed ear to pick it out...

The best guitarist I've seen live has to be Ingwe Malmsteen. A really arrogant, self centred prick, but one hell of a guitarist.
