I chose French over Spanish in middle school (because they didn't have Latin Evil evil

), and after three years of studying, I can sort of understand the French movies almost without looking at the subtitles at all! Isn't the Israeli education system wonderful? White laugh

Needless to say, I no parler espanol.

That's actually pretty good, I've forgetten most of what I was taught of my 7 years of Italian at school and 4 years of French. If you get taught it properly though it seems to take just two years to roughly learn a language, and about 4 or 5 of using it to get to a pretty good level.

Exactly - "properly" being the operative word.

We only had a couple hours of French a week, and for one of those three years, no one actually learned anything. At least this year there are only three girls in the class instead of twenty. Maybe I'll actually become fluent, one of these decades. Yes, oh yes.. keep going
