Plato (29%) Click here for info You haven't heard of Sartre? He's the father of existentialism. Existentialism recognises that we all have responsibilities which we have to make choices concerning our lives and such choices are irrelevant to God (whom Satre does not believe in). Sartre also notes that whenever you decide to live a certain way you do not simply choose once eg. "I will be a vegetarian and never eat meat" - You must then make that descision again and again every time you are given the opportunity to eat meat. Sartre and Nietzsche were both very criticial of Kant's views on morality (however, nietzsche was a bit different since he simply rejected them outright). David Hume is also an awesome philosopher! posted by fatpie42 |

How can you ever have your current beliefs if you never listen to anyone elses? I feel it is important to listen to people with views extremely different from my own to understand how they end up thinking in such a different way. Sometimes listening to other views can make you realise the problems with your own views. The fact is that almost all philosophers are wrong. If you agree with any philosopher unquestioningly then the chances are that you are an idiot. What philosophers succeed in is making us think... posted by fatpie42 |
