being an avid weed smoker for quite a few years and now 4 years off i have mixed feelings about the drug Quote: I had a really bad trip w/acid once...Haven't gone near the stuff since i've done most of the hard drugs but weed did the samething you state here G, and i haven't touched the stuff since...first i thought it was laced(still not sure), then i thought it was real, Quote: i stoped like 6 months ago and im still soooo paranoid about everything,
Hey newsflash - the Paranoia was from you, weed was just an excuse 6 months? try a few years and it still being reminded of it, marl i don't think your statement is entirely true...i smoked years(and lots) before this ever happened to me, i don't find it to be an excuse but maybe a way of your body telling you 'ok enough is enough' Quote: Cannabis is NOT addictive being a former pothead, i see why you say this, i did too posted by The ONEder Man |

The ONEder Man: why else would you chose to do it everyday? why not as a party drug on the weekends much like beer? The answer is far to long winded for here, but in short for the cost of one night out a week, I can relax and chill out every night for a month. But in fairness, the question was "why every day?" Well it stops me worrying too much about things I have no control over at the moment. posted by Marl64 |

knn: Quote: Find your brand and stick to it. = take more and more, coz it loses the kick. yeah? Quote: The architects of marijuana prohibition have long maintained that tolerance to cannabis means the same thing as tolerance to addictive drugs like cocaine and heroin - that users need more and more to get high, driving them to crime and desperation. Now, the federal government's own research indicates that precisely the opposite is true. Science has finally caught on to what tokers have known all along: With marijuana tolerance, you have to smoke less to get high! posted by Marl64 |

Quote: With marijuana tolerance, you have to smoke less to get high! you get high quicker, but not that same high as when you first smoke(giggling uncontrollably) as a chronic smoker you never get back to that "type" of high but you still try, which may mean smoking more for the desired effect[/quote] posted by The ONEder Man |

Having tried hallucinogens illicitly in high school, I can safely say that they are not for kids or adults without supervision. I went to an alternative school which at that time had a pronounced drug subculture, basically unknown to the faculty. I have had a few weird experiences, but mostly that was because someone else freaked out. I have seen people who believe they have killed somebody and the cops are after them, people who got violent, and people who just burned out. That being said, having done hallucinogenic drugs, I really and truly believe that under medical supervision they could have some therapeutic value. Take Agent Zero, for instance. I read his posts on this topic, and he apparently is against the use of hallucinogens, which is good because you can go to prison for possessing them. Then he tells us on shoutbox that he is "hitting bottom" while he is drinking tequila, and ONEder, who works in a pharmacy and thus knows something about drugs, has to tell him that his drinking is causing it. I see this pattern so much in my friends, especially with drinking these days. The important thing about the hallucinogenic experience is that it gives you a sense of standing outside yourself, and seeing all your faults. Some people have trouble doing this normally. But on hallucinogens, the equation is different. Sometimes they cry or sit in a chair staring into the distance. But when it is over, the ones who have had supervised experiences will say, "You know what? I'm going to turn my life around." If you look bad, you might want to get in shape after you take a hallucinogen. If you feel bad...well,mymla would tell you aren't getting enough spiritual support, but that is nonsense. Also, most of us will have to take some kind of medication in our lives, maybe some more than others, haha. But when I had to realize that I was seriously ill - in danger of dying - I drew on my experiences in high school with hallucinogens and remembered that I had vulnerabilities that no-one understood but me, and that I had to get treated. I hope none of you will ever be in that situation, but if you are, don't listen to people like knn who will tell you that you are just spoiled or uncontrollable. He's a great programmer and poster, but he knows exactly jack shit about medicine. And getting back on topic: knn, how can you sit here and tell people not to do something you have never tried? Are you omniscient? You sit here and preach on the Internet about how bad certain drugs are, but how do you know which ones are bad and which aren't if you haven't tried them all? I say, doing something which is essentially harmless when used in its proper place is better than doing nothing. What do you think? posted by holy_of_holies |
