 god i hate them! my first experience was when my sister screamed for me to go kill one that was on her wall. i think i was about 6, the damn thing flew off the wall and landed on my back! ah! i have hated them ever since. they just seem so...disgusting to me. i will stomp the hell out of one though! my next horrible experience came about a year ago. i was riding my moped, just minding my own friggen business, when i see this giant bug like thing flying...straight...towards...ME! i was at a stop sign, so i decided to go and try to miss the damn thing...i didn't, it landed on my chest, i felt the damn thing slam into me! it was huge! i looked down to see about a 4 inch long cockroach on me! i quit paying attentiong to my driving and started to swat at it, ended up hitting a curb, i jumped off, gave a sigh of relief because i thought it was gone...but wait, it wasnt! i did the little "get it off, get it off" dance for about a minute while swatting at myself. i stomped on it...didn't die...tried again, nope. it took three hard stomps to crush the damn thing...

 knn: Australian jungle. Heh, we generally call it a Rain Forest or 'the Bush'.
You can eat alot of bugs in Rain Forests though, alot of poisonous crap aswell so it's not a good idea to eat any bug you see without actually knowing the bugs and which ones are poisonous. Cockroaches are generally just deemed an annoyance here, not a huge epademic. posted by hungarian kid |

 Well, I find all insects including cockroaches fascinating... outside in nature that is. I love nature programs dealing w/ insects. Now, I damn well wouldn't want them inside w/ me. That scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom where they go through the insect room would be horrid! And I agree that the first time you learn that a cockroach can fly scares the shit out of you! posted by volonteshiva |

And I agree that the first time you learn that a cockroach can fly scares the shit out of you! you know i have never seen a cockroach exept in the bug zoo i love bugs but roaches were a bit much they let you hold them so i did but it was a bit gross. posted by Kupov |

Did you know cockroaches like go drunk? Leave an empty bear bottle and next day you'll see at the bottom of the bottle tow or three up side down. A friend of mine was having some drinks but he put the bear near another empty bear bottle with some drunkers there for a couple days at the bottom...he took the wrong one...just imagine
