Bit dubious...


If he has another terrorist attack then it will undermine all the work he's been doing. If you say "we are fighting this war to prevent terrorism" and then you get terrorism anyway, it has GOT to be bad for your credibility.

Both compelling arguments and perhaps an indicator that we need a third option;

"It will harm him in some ways and help him in others - So his status and popularity will remain largely unchanged"

Just consider what happened in Spain. Spain was a major Iraq War Supporter and they got their attack, just before the elections. The ruling party (that went to war) tried everything (putting newspaper editors under pressure etc) to HIDE that it was Al-Quaida.

The population was so angry that the opposition party won, which is now getting the troops home.

I can see..


..how an attack could help Bush too, he would say "look, you've all been bashing me, now look whats happened, give me support!" and all the gung ho crowd would say hell yeah, we should get behind him after they attack us twice! kick their asses Bush!.

The again it could go fatpie and Knn's way and they hate him for the new attacks he's brought on them.

this person's predictions are probably very accurate...except for a few tweaks here and there...maybe Iraq will get blown up by US or US will become infested w/ terrorists.
