and i heard on the radio(which was wierd anyway cuz i usually listen to cd's) that all the flights in the u.s. had been postponed and thought hmmm...so once i got to work somebody asked me if i'd heard and told me all about it...then my usual bitch of a boss actually let us bring a small black and white tv back to the pharmacy so we could keep up on what was going on... posted by The ONEder Man |

i was at work...it was about 4 oclock when i heard...as people were beginning the back shifts they were coming in with more and more info... i work in a supermarket and it was all everyone was talking about and at the time everyone thought that capitol hill as well as many other targets had been hit the late edition paper came in with only a small pic of the first tower in flames...the next edition came in was full from front to back i still have copies of the papers from the next day as i always keep papers from major events i got home and phoned my mate who had just got up for the night shift and was watching eurosport. i said to him "are you watchin this shit?" to which he replied "ive got the sport on" i said "turn to the main channels(which were wall to wall coverage)" we then sat on the phone basically saying"fuck me...holy shit...fucking hell" for about ten minutes before saying "see ya later" posted by the anomaly |

Quote: I still have copies of the papers from the next day as i always keep papers from major events I never usually do but I have also kept the papers from the following day. It has those awful close ups of those people who jumped. What an awful decision they had to make posted by zesja |

I had just returned home from the university and turned on the TV and it was all over the news. I watched for about 15 minutes and then the 2nd plane hit the other tower. I'll never forget that day, just as I'll never forget where I was when I heard the news that Kurt Cobain was dead. posted by Echelon |

I was in a editing suite at college working on a film with my friend from NYC. His cell phone rang and he went a shade of white that I've never seen before. He looked at me and said, "A plane just hit the fucking WTC!" We ran out into the commons area and watched the madness unfold. posted by GP |

I was is in a cofffe-shop outside my office. Everyone there was stunned as they showed it on TV. I called to check on a friend who worked in the bldg. His cell was not responding. Later found out that he was alright but only because he missed his usual train to office. He stopped for a restroom break! posted by blueSky |

Did you guys know that Ian Thorpe was supposed to be at the Observation Deck at the time the planes hit the towers? He was on vacation and ran into a friend of his the night before. They scheduled to meet at the WTC the next morning but Ian overslept or some thing like that, and plans were postponed. Weird, huh? posted by Echelon |
