»16year-old hanged in Iran for sex before marriage«


• She was prosecuted for having sex before marriage
• She told she was raped 5 times (= had involuntarily sex) but could not present the neeeded 5 male muslim eye-witnesses
• She was sentenced to 100 lashes (100 for each rape)
• Because of her "sharp tongue" (= she said one should punish the culprits not the victim) she was sentenced to death.
• Because she was 16 and the death penalty cannot be carried out, she was declared 22 by the court.
• The judge went to Teheran and was blessed there to carry out the court decision.

Yeah, I would like to know what kind of crime they did to deserve such a punishment. What could they do anyways? People under eighteen are mentally and emotionally immature, and still considered kids. They probably did something like cuss in front of some official or something.

Yup, true. I think the point is that she met with them in the first place, thus this is seen as the proof that she wanted to have sex voluntarily. This would be similar as in this case:
• 1 girl+2 rich boys + 1 driver (of the boys) meet
• They rape the girl
• They film it with their mobile phone
• They spread it proudly via internet

They were very sure they would get away with it, since "it was the girls fault in the first place to meet them". However this was so widely circulated that that it backfired and now they are under arrest.
