 I used to look upon the Salvation Army ♣ pretty much like I looked upon Morris Dancers ♣ - It's something people do, leave them alone and they'll go away. Some time ago, I was in a pub in London and a commotion broke out outside. One of the locals pointed out "Oh it's the god squad at it again". I ventured outside (after my drink of course) to see a group of the "good upstanding christian types" hurling abuse at drunks coming out of the pub. Like the good ld fasioned which hunts it was. "Sinners, you're path is the will of Satan" and all that. Not really the "Come and Join us" nice, pretty friendly side that is promoted all over the place. They were a disgrace to their uniform, to Christianity and to humanity in general. What gives them the right to declare themselves an Army? All they do is Sing songs, bang tamberines and (apparantly) belittle drunks. posted by Marl64 |

 I think the salvation army is one of the groups that has a myth fame which doesn't match the reality. Their name is greater than their work. A similar thing is Interpol. Who the hell is Interpol? What are they doing? posted by knn |

 I try to avoid the Christian types. "HEY, YOU'RE ON A PATH TO SIN!" "You're on a path of atheists who feel the tendency to beat the shit out of you" I don't know how atheists can stand catho schools when they get sent to them by their rich parents. The only reason why those schools have such a percentage of good grades is because they kick out anyone who drops below an 80 percent average. I don't trust those Catho charoties. Where's the proof they use all the money donated to them? E.g. When I stayed at Ronald McDonald house when my sister was sick and I was about 6, the place was so under-funded it wasn't funny. Infact it was appauling. And how many people do you think pop their loose change into those little boxes at McDonalds cus they've got too much food to carry and no capability of getting to their wallet? Quite alot, but still Ronald McDonald house's stay under-funded and there's nothing they can do about it against the fast food giant. posted by hungarian kid |
