consider this...if the US was never bombed at pearl harbor by the crazy japanese. who would of helped stop hitler? i think he would of taken britain and then once taken almost all of europe would of spread. only if hitler would of tried to attack the US soil would we of gotten involved. hitler was europes problem...you made him you take control...i think if the US didn't get involved when it did...your nation would be named new germany.The U.S. was a military supplier to Great Britain, yah we held off but we could of refused all together

Japan Attacked Perl Harbour because the US was blockading it's trade routes, their country was slowly starving to death, they felt they had no choice.

Precisely my point, the U.S. came to our rescue purely out of self interest and revenge, and not to help allies in need - it missed plenty of opportunities for that.

Yes, I'll admit I am, but that has nothing to do with this.

One of the criticisms often levelled at the Americans is that they have a problem seeing outside their own world - demonising anyone that questions their beliefs.

Please prove this wrong by at least considering some of the things other people are saying before dismissing them outright.

Us Hungarians were already rebelling in certain factions befor the Americans joined the war. There were alot of people that helped bring the outcome of the war but most credit should be given to Russia.
The real argument should be, it was a world war yet America ignored it even though it could of helped end it alot earlier and saved millions of lives.

America's government clearly has no interest in Human life unless it's its own and can be used to boost favour in it's direction.

Exactly! Attacking Russia was the biggest mistake Hitler did, besides throwing out Jewish scientists, who then helped US to develop the atomic bomb.

I once even saw a documentation that he nearly got Russia in his hands but then made a mistake and didn't use his chance. Well, anyway. The won war cost millions of Russians to die anyway, because Stalin, the mass murderer, has been "kept in office".

Russia won the war

We weren't saved by the Americans. America only joined the allies because they wanted us to help THEM defeat the Japanese. As was said before, the reason Japan attacked America was because America was slowley starving their country. America was stupid enough to have all their navy ships in the same place and Japan took the initiative of blowing them all away at once. Damn clever of them!

When Hitler decided to go on an all-out war against communism without any mercy, Russia managed to destroy them. Not only did Russia manage to defeat the invading Germans but they single handedly took over the whole of eastern europe. They didn't give it back til the berlin wall came down in 1989. I'm half-tempted to say that if the Americans hadn't entered the war we'd all be speaking Russian! Shocked

Has anyone seen Killing Zoe? It's a movie about a bank robbery. I love the bit where the American tourist insists that he should be let go. He says "If it weren't for my country you'd all be speaking German" and the main robber, without a moments pause for thought, blows him away with a sub-automatic weapon Smile
