there will appear a new religion, or something already existing will strike people as new, and they will start to change for the better.

The only question is whether it will be already too late, or not.

Wishful thinking it might be, but on the other hand go on living believing that the humankind is going to hell with no hope of survival whatsoever makes even less sense I think. Maybe the current state of affiars is this bad exactly because many think that the humankind will die any way, so why bothering and doing something to amke things better.

Age of Aquarius?


One belief system states that everything is cyclic, and that twelve is a very important number.

Our year is divided into twelve segments (or houses) represented by signs of the Zodiac.

The Year starts with Aquarius, then Pisces etc. and it ends with Capricorn.

As well as this cycle, there is a much larger one - called the cycle of Ages - which is about 25,000 years in total.

This larger cycle starts with Capricorn and procedes in reverse order (of the yearly cycle) through to Pisces and Finally Aquarius. Each of these "Ages" is about 2100 years long.

Aquarius being the last phase of the cycle is said to be the last age of man, the age of enlightenment and is due any time.

Hence the song "This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius"

But there is a price to this "enlightenment" and that is the abandonment of the ways of the previous age.

The cycle which is ending is the Age of Pisces - the fish, an age which started a little over 2000 years ago.

So what other significant movement is around 2000 years old and often represented by a fish?

And would it's "members" be willing to give it all up to allow mankind to advance?

Think the world is gonna have a few Scientific leaps (including the Mars Landing) but I don't doubt there being a war. But wars allways have a demand on quick technological enhancement, so we could move fast in some periods, and about as slow as now in others.
