Wonder whether Bin Laden could disappear from the surface with a face transplant. What? When? Where? Why?

face off

Nah he wouldn't. Would have lost all the publicity with a face no one recognises.

However, looks like the operation is pretty dangerous. Someone must be really badly burnt to want to risk their life for a transplant.
What if the tissue is rejected? what do they do? Try and find other?

She said she will tell patients there is as much as a 50 percent chance of failure because of tissue rejection or other complications.

A central question in debate over the procedure has been whether patients should be subjected to risks of transplant failure and life-threatening complications from anti-rejection drugs for an operation that is not lifesaving.

Biological tissue is ALWAYS rejected (except for your own or from your identical twin).

In other words: You need to suppress your immune system all life long (= microbes can easily kill you).

In other words: You could implant a dog's face onto yours, since it doesn't really matter immune system wise.

It would be a great way for Jocelyn Wildenstein to finally look how she wants to look: Like a lion:

Face transplants come handy

Facial transplants could be useful for woman whose face has been destroyed by acid attacks (by Muslims who felt offended by uncovered faces)

a great idea...unfortunately...it may come under cosmetic surgery only and therefor be far to expensive for many people from poor muslim countries to afford
