 have a big problem believing in any god that would allow the amount of suffering that has happened on 'his' world. I have a theory, i think he is watching millions of worlds and earth is in the 'council estate' part of the universe and as such sub-contracts out to other companies like 'tv evangelists' and 'catholic church inc'  posted by Crossfade |

Since all kinds of people are sentenced to spend their time here, it's not very homogeneous (other planets have much more homogeneous societies and far less countries). Moreover due to the thin cloud layer (= cosmic ray bombardement) a constant deterioration of genes takes place. Welcome to hell. There is no place lower than that (except madness). posted by knn |

 The ONEder Man: you really think this? you can't imagine any reality worse than this one? i sure can... Yes you can IMAGINE one, doesn't mean that there is one. Probably earth has a stable era now. Maybe in a few hundred years it will be total mind control with millions of slaves. Until the next atomic wipe out. New African/Asian tribes will evolve until the next wipe out. Moreover, judging by my avatar when I made that post, I was in a "special mood" to post it

 Crossfade: god that would allow the amount of suffering that has happened on 'his' world. Can you really imagine a world where everything will be fine and nice and neat and no suffering and no crime? Wouldn't it be so very boring? As soon as people have more or less stable lives they start to invent problems for themselves. Crossfade: i think he is watching millions of worlds and earth is in the 'council estate' part of the universe and as such sub-contracts out to other companies like 'tv evangelists' and 'catholic church inc'  So basically he is busy looking after more promising and exciting palces, and we here are left to sink or swim? He made us remember that he exists so that we are not too surprised if he decides to come back and take a look, and left forever and forgot this planet.
Well, whether he forgot or whether this planet is some type of a trash bin, looks like we will have to do everything ourselves and make this place a better one if we wish.
