 At it's most basic level you could say America needed this excuse for war. Would a country attack itself and kill nearly 10,000 people and level two of it's most famous landmarks just to get it's foot in the door of an oil baring country? hmmmm posted by Crossfade |

This is not about them staging the attack, but I'm sure that will show up here eventually. It's the thing about senior CIA staff buying up options in shares for US airlines, days before. The planes crash, the stock value plumets and they exercise their options - buy the stock at rock bottom and immediately sell it back at the pre-crash price - instant profit out of misery. At least I think that's how it works. Quote: Between September 6 and 7, the Chicago Board Options Exchange saw purchases of 4,744 put options on United Airlines, but only 396 call options… Assuming that 4,000 of the options were bought by people with advance knowledge of the imminent attacks, these “insiders” would have profited by almost $5 million.
On September 10, 4,516 put options on American Airlines were bought on the Chicago exchange, compared to only 748 calls. Again, there was no news at that point to justify this imbalance;… Again, assuming that 4,000 of these options trades represent “insiders,” they would represent a gain of about $4 million. [The levels of put options purchased above were more than six times higher than normal.

Yes sorry Marl, went off at a tangent from your question. If that statement is true then it is the actions of people who had foreknowledge of the attacks...the whole thing stinks of conspiracy but will america dare have the guts to question such a massive loss of life against it's leaders? posted by Crossfade |

Crossfade: Yes sorry Marl, went off at a tangent from your question. You did, but it adds an interesting twist. I've mentioned this to a couple of people recently and they all all responded in similar ways. Me: "So what d'ya think about all this 911 CIA insider trading then?" Them: "Yeah, Yeah, CIA flying planes into their own buildings, that's ludicrous, don't be stupid". It's almost like the "CIA staging the attack story" is distracting people from the "CIA Insider Trading Story". Dare I suggest, they planted a more rediculous story to draw the fire, wait until the flames die down and then debunk it Or is that too much of a conspiracy?

 I don't think it's conspiracy theory at all. I also found the insider trading sketchy to say the least. But you're right in the sense that no one here will question the government on their involvement in 9/11. Bush and his cronies have done such a great job of creating a police state that anyone who questions authority w/be arrested for conspiracy...uh, I should probably shut up now. posted by GP |

 i really don't like this topic. no one benefits from those people dieing. i mean i watched the whole thing and will remember that day the rest of my life. it disturbs me to know that people are saying that the CIA benefits from 5000 people dieing. posted by Agent Zero |

Zero, I don't like thinking about that, either. But you have to admit that w/all the information coming to the forefront on how the FBI and White House had intellegence pointing to an eminent attack and they still choose to do nothing, it makes you wonder. posted by GP |

i knew about that allready. it didn't just come out. it came out right after 9.11 i studied it. but the fact is they didn't know exactly when it was gonna happen and it happened so fast. it was well thought out posted by Agent Zero |

Well, they knew enough so that Dick Clarke wrote a letter (1 week prior to Sep. 11) that there will be deads and corpses soon. Before we go on, I ask to please read each of my posts (yes, each one) at  I have summerized a lot of info there. posted by knn |
