 Um... if there's a channel that NEVER bashes Bush, that is one-sided. No president or prime minister does NOTHING that can be criticised. If there's no criticism of the president, that is simply lazy journalism. In Britain the news programs will criticise Blair most of the time. It isn't because they are all conservatives. Actually many of them are, like Blair, socialists. It is simply that they are doing their job as journalists reporting both the good and bad sides of the story. If there's a criticism to make then as Roosevelt first said "the buck stops here" (ie. the president takes responsibility for the country's problems). It really annoys me that whenever I criticise Bush I am called a lefty. I am criticising Bush because of his actions motivated by Christian fundamentalism (what's that got to do with being left wing?) and his actions done jointly with my prime minister (a socialist!). I am a conservative supporter. That makes me RIGHT wing, geddit? posted by fatpie42 |

Knn's right on when he says that accepting everything that comes out your leader's mouth is the crux of a dictatorship. In the U.S., we have the luxury of being able to question and criticize our leader w/o fear of persecution...until recently.
