 look i am and american because i live in the uniteed states of AMERICA so AMERICA spoke. quit pokin at the small things and look at the bigger picture pal. i live in washington state unfortunatly it voted kerry and has not voted for a republican president in a very long time. i live near seattle. anyways BUSH won and i am happy. he won both things this time and i think the world needs to "wake up" as knn would put it. and realize that 51% is the most a president has gotten in a long time. clinton didn't have that much. posted by Agent Zero |

Americas refers to North, South, and Central America, and America can refer to any part of the Americas. It's a bit like saying President of the USA - he belongs to it not he is it. And this should give you an idea how to abbreviate stuff, people say "Look it's the president" not "Look its the USA". In the end, it really doesn't matter if you like that we call ourselves Americans, or that in common parlance we refer to our country as America. It's what we do. And as it doesn't harm anyone, and only offends the obsessive-compulsive residents of Planet Earth, it's what we will continue to do.
