People in the United Kingdom or whatever would complain if we were to call ourselves Unite...dians.

Is some other country has the word america in their country name please tell me. No really. I haven't looked at a globe in a while. Set your George Michael free

I can't vote because I can't read
I can't vote because I can't find my mouse

But fun aside: I don't understand this poll.
1) How can a nationality be correct? You mean the naming, don't you?
2) Of COURSE it's correct (since there is no other broadly used term) but of course it's also too broad.

Well you've got most general terms. So anyone from Europe is European, Asia is Asian, Australia is Autralian (hey hey, we're our own continent) etc.
Now New Zealand is part of the Australian Continent, but not ONCE in my life have I heard one been called an Australian! The generality of continent naming doesn't always work, but in Americas case it kinda doesn't. I mean people in Russia aren't called U.S.S.Rians, so Americans sounds about right but it's still too general! People are either gonna have to accept Americans can mean two types of people or start calling them something different! You don't hear people changing words like Bat cus it means a clubbing object and a winged animal!
But should Australians be called something different too just because it can mean people from Australia or New Zealand? What the...?

Why should people in RUSSIA be called something else than RUSSIANS?

Too late

now, all the world is used now to calling people from USA Americans.
If they would have chosen a simpler name for their country, I guess they would be called something different. Now, whether we like it or not, they are Americans.
