Anyone here playing the mmorpg World of Warcraft?

worldofwarcraft.com...

And for that matter, anyone a fan of the Warcraft genre/story lines? I never thought I would get into warcraft but Warcraft III and Warcraft III Frozen Throne really drew me in deep! Great stories and animation and gameplay.

I've been a Warcraft fan since way back when I was in grade 3 in primary school and I played the first Warcraft game! I was instantly hooked, I eventually got 2 and the expansion!
I havn't gotten around to buying War3 or FT yet (I've got the burnt versions which ruled) but it'd still rule to play War3FT online (rather than StarCraft White laugh .)
From what I hear, WoW is pretty damn good, including a new feature to Online MMORPGs where you buy recharge cards instead of paying by monthly! What the...?

I tried the open beta, about a month before the game was released. It ran pretty smooth. My only complaints were that the game seemed completely overrun by people (maybe that's less of a concern now that there are more servers), and that the graphics really didn't make me care too much about my avatar. My avatar is a big deal to me... it's usually what grabs my interest in an RPG.

Well, MMORPGs are different than just multiplayer games with a lot of people playing. In an MMORPG, your reputation is important. If people come to know you as an ass, you won't be able to find groups.

Griefers do end up forming their own little groups, but smart players stay well the hell away from them. Of course, one of the many tests of MMORPG designers is to make their game as impermeable to griefers as possible.

Give us all a dictionary list of these mmorpg terms, o' great tiefling of the fire.

Well I mean, if I knew enough people who were going to play WoW, I'd probably take it more seriously. For example, my sister and her husband are thinking of trying it. If they did, I'd be there.

So yeah, if anyone else picks it up *ahem volonte ahem*, let me know.

Dude, you know I would be right up in that game if I could. There are 250,000 copies sold/people out there playing now, you should buy it and join the game and tell us about it!

Damn, there is a signature series of WoW for sale for $80! I hope the basic version isn't that much! oh good, just checked, the normal $50.

Like I said tho. I tried the beta. Runs just fine, I just don't feel like spending the time learning a new game. What I enjoy most about MMORPGs is playing them with my friends.

enter the Realm!

Well, I just got into WoW over the weekend, and will be into it for a while. Tiefling is also likely getting into it.

HK, you still playing WoW? If so, what realm are you, what is your character name?

Anyone else interested, or are most other IMOers playing Anarchy Online and Matrix Online?

I play on Nathrezim and my character's called Tirrmurdoc. I'd be more than happy to change server and start a new character, my current character is only level 6.
