knnknn: And since the word trinity isn't even slightly mentioned they don't believe that Jesus and God were one. What's the word trinity got to do with it? That Jesus was God is clearly stated in John chapter one. 'In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God'. This interesting symbolism finishes with the sentence: no one has ever seen God but the son has made him known. This is because Jesus IS 'the word' (or logos) that is mentioned earlier in the passage. I'll accept that anywhere else in the New Testament it only ever says SON of God or 'Son of Man'. However, to say that the new testament does not claim Jesus to be God is simply not to read the gospel. posted by fatpie42 |

Quote: When on earth Jesus cured the sick, fed the hungry, and calmed storms. He even raised the dead. Why did he perform miracles? (1) He felt pity for people who were suffering, and he wanted to help them. (2) His miracles proved that he was God's Son. (3) They showed what he will do for obedient mankind when he rules as King over the earth.—Matthew 14:14; Mark 2:10-12; John 5:28, 29. That sounds pretty believing in Jesus to me. Quote: they basically say he is God's prophet and one of the many sons...right? No. The site says: "Jesus is the only Son that God created by himself" Quote: are you a jehovas witness knn? I won't tell you that. As the forum admin my beliefs shouldn't take a prominent place. [CLICK HERE TO VIEW THIS PICTURE] posted by knn |

Muslims would not describe themselves as Christian despite accepting Jesus as a prophet and believing in the new testament. A Christian is someone who believes that Jesus is God (and that therefore salvation is provided through him). Jehovah's Witnesses would not describe Jesus as the source of their salvation and would, presumably, not see the crucifixion as saving them from their sins. As a result they are not Christian. (Christianity has the cross as its symbol for a reason!) Jehovah's Witnesses are another religion. Not a denomination of Christianity... I personally think jehovah's witnessism is a pile of dingoes kidneys, but I wouldn't want to offend anyone who actually believes in it. posted by fatpie42 |
