Only a bunch of powerchords. Supposed to be used as a part of a song. What do you guys think? Does it rock or does it suck?

What do you guys think? Does it rock or does it suck? Yeah, it's ok, not Led Zeppelin brilliant but good enough to be called a song! Powerchords are underappreciated really, they're great easy chords to make a generically rock song, not to be used by themselves all the time though! Eifersucht (Rammstein), Too Many Puppies (Primus) & TNT (AC/DC) are three brilliant songs with alot of powerchord usage! The most obvious powerchord song to mention is Smells like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, but I don't like that song! posted by hungarian kid |

knn: Has potential Must be a song starting with "She" Okay, here's a poor instrumental (2 guitars) recording of the entire thing. My guitar was out of tune, the sound is shitty and there's a lot of noise. I also think it would rock more if it would be more precise and if drums and bass would be added. It aren't only powerchords, there are also suspension chords and wrong notes. I'm satisfied with most parts, but I don't like the chorus because it doesn't resolve the tension at all. You can make up the lyrics on your own. Maybe you even like it... thanks! And I agree with Hungarian Kid. Powerchords can be awesome if they're played fast and loud. posted by anonymyus |

volonteshiva: Hey, that is some good work there Anon! How long have you been playing? So indeed this is an original piece you wrote and played? That's easy. I can't believe you really like it. The whole thing is a mess. I didn't 'write' it, I simply constructed it using some scales and chords. Writing it down would've been unnecessary work. It's not properly arranged and therefore it sounds like noise. I'm really not good at playing. Just listen to the 'solo'. The 'heavy' parts are really easy to play when you use a drop tuning. I tabbed out the hardest parts in case anyone cares: E5 Asus4 E|--------0--- B|x--8---x--- G|9--9---7--- D|9--9---7--- A|7--7---0--- D|------------ Cadd9 Dsus4(add9) Cadd9 Asus4 E|0 --------------------------------0---0--------0------- B|3---------------------------------3---3--------3------- G|0---------------------------------2---0--------2--~2- D|2-----------------5----5--7--5--0---2--------2------- A|3--------------------5----------------3---------------- D|-------------------------------------------------------- ______________________________^^^^^ _______________________________this sucks posted by anonymyus |

Mm me likey.. but you could try missing out that extra note just before the third beat, on the latter repetitions, to add rhythm. And with some light cymbals in the beginning and some power drumming it would sound really good. Maybe you should really try doing that with a bud who does the drums and see how it goes? Or have you forgotten this, or tried it already, because this is a sort of old post? posted by ryder |
