»NCAA College hoops!«

So in about a month we will be gearing up for march madness. Where 40 teams will compete for the national title. These are the teams you need to watch this year.

The University of Washington, this is my pick because its my favorite team but because of one man Nate Robinson  he has been called the greatest Basketball player in the country right now. and that means something. he is averaging 17 points a game. He is the future of the sport but not only that, he is also the exact height as me! 5'8 rock on dude! I saw them live a few weeks back when they took out san diego state by 29 points. They are my pick for the final four. they are currentyl 15-2

Gonzaga, they are highly ranked as usual and they will be takign a high spot in the tourney.

The University of Arizona, Arizona has been showing some skill this year as they are right behind UW.

North Carolina State. They have always ruled the court, this year we will get to see some new faces and drama.

Georgia Tech, they are a top team and is my 2nd choice for the final four

I know im making these predictions early, but its exciting to me.

Boston College, they are undefeated and will probably make it to the dance. pick 3

Kansas has stepped up this year and is also an undefeated team, they are gonna be high quality in the 40.

and finally kentucky is my last pick, i don't know if these guys can even face eachother but i got 4 picks and one of these little babys is going ot the big dance.

Can i get your guys thoughts...heres a good site for stuff

a sports discussion...my specialty. Before I get going, I noticed Zero that you're a sports writer...another scary similarity as I was a sports writer in college, as well. I learned something new, I guess

While I'll agree that Washington is good, I think that they benefit from playing in a rather weak conference. I mean, in all reality, it's them, Stanford, and Arizona. Nobody else is even close to bringing something nationally. Washington will make it to the tourney, but I don't see the Final 4...Sweet 16, yes. Oh, and yes, Nate-Rob is one of the best players in the land...AA for sure.

Gonzaga is always an intriguing team. They've really got a good one in Kyle Morrison and as always they're well coached by Mark Few. However, they've been decimated by injuries so far and unless Ronny Tauriaf can get healthy, they too may go out early.

I'm not concerned w/Arizona or N.C. State. While they both have crap-loads of talent, they also have a serious problem w/inconsistency. N.C. State has started 1-3 in the ACC and unless they turn it around, they may even be hard pressed to get in...but the ACC is routinely the toughest conference in the country, so they could get in just going .500! However, these are the type of teams that if they get hot...watch out.

Georgia Tech is damn good. They've got a great PG w/Jarrett Jack and a good inside game w/Luke Schenscher (An Aussie!). They also very athletic and play good D...a key ingredient in making a run. Also, watch G Is'mail Muhammed...that guy can jump out've the gym.

BC is very good as well, but I'm not sold on them being a final 4 team yet. They haven't played anyone good in the Big East yet and until they beat UConn, Syracuse or Pitt, they won't be considered a real threat.

Kansas and Kentucky bring it every year. No matter how many people they lose, they seem to just reload and keep on truckin'. Kansas has gotten lucky in a couple of games this year and have been troubled w/injuries to star PF Wayne Simien. If he's healthy, they're very good...if not, they're very mortal. Kentucky...well, they're young, which means if they're rolling...watch out. But, if you can get on them early, they more than likely will fold under pressure.

Now, since I've made this long post, I might as well give you my Final Four picks...

1. North Carolina - They've got the necessary inside-outside game that you need to go deep in the tourney w/Sean May and Rashad McCants. They've also got a very good PG in Raymond Felton. The downside: Their coach, Roy Williams is notorious for choking in the tourney.

2. UConn - I've seen this team numerous times this year and no matter how much they're down, they find a way to win. Again, great inside-outside combination w/Josh Boone and super-frosh Rudy Gay. Also, they're extremely well-coached by Jim Calhoun.

3. Kansas - See above. They're Final Four quest is predicated on Simien staying healthy.

4. Illinois - Number 1 in the country right now and hands down the fastest team in the land w/G's Dee Brown, Deron Williams, and Luther Head. They've got 4 of they're 5 starters averaging double-figures and they've got a deep bench. They are the team to beat. On a side note, Tuesday they play at my team's house, Wisconsin. We've got the longest home winning streak in the country and they've got the longest road winning streak...should be one helluva game (9 EST, ESPN).

weird that you too were a sports writer!

I can see your picks they are very good, i have to say marvin williams is goign to play a big role in NC at the tourney. he is a freshman but he is from bremerton my home town and i went to high school with the kid. He is a nice fella and is highly skilled. even though he doesnt start for them he still snags 10 points a game.

Marvin Williams is from Bremerton? That's cool, man. He's going to be a star at UNC. It just happens that he's on a REALLY loaded team this year.

but i do agree that illinois is the team to beat...

Dude, Villanova isn't a bad team. In fact, if not for ALMOST DYING IN A PLANE CRASH I learned something new, I guess before the game, they would've beaten Boston College last week as well. Taking out Kansas and BC in one week...that's pretty tough.

I also am a big Cowboys fan. I love their coach and they were my pick to win it all last year. They are an extremely dangerous team and should go deep into the tourney.

He's talking about Oklahoma State, not Oregon State or Ohio State.

Wait...didn't Oregon State's coach almost die ON THE COURT from a heart attack?

word up

Yo, i know they made it to the final 4 last year but i just think that they are non threatening compared to boston. that's me though. im usually wrong. OSU is good but years change things also things that change are player attitudes and anything can happen in college hoops. even if the team is good they can lose oh and UW is now 16-2! hollaa
