No. Because that statement wasnt meant literally does that mean Jesus was a liar? No. It is sad that close minded people lack the imagination to see the metaphorical meanings of the Bible. Maybe God didn't create the world in seven days, but if you are so hung up on the inconsistencies of the timeline, you have missed the entire message. 2nd. FrogTrain: 2nd. Modern Science was mostly developed in Christian countries by Christians like Kepler, Copernicus, Thomas Edison, and Niels Bohr Good thing you included the last two to be able to remotely qualify your use of the word "modern". Science in Copernicus' time was heavily under the thumb of the church. If they didn't like something it found, it didn't get out... Earth revolving around the sun anyone? FrogTrain: 1st. ok when Jesus said, "my father's house has many rooms" Please spare me such statement. This statement means everything and nothing. It has been used to show that reincarnation exist. It has been used to show that women cannot become Catholic priests. It merely shows the pityful state of matters if you have to use such "Nostradamic" sentence to make a point. FrogTrain: 2nd. Modern Science was mostly developed in Christian countries by Christians like Kepler, Copernicus, Thomas Edison, and Niels Bohr So? They haven't been bible scientists. Moreover you are using a statistical trick: How much more science has been developped by non-Christians? Moreover you try to a kind of "god proof": So many people believe, thus the bible is correct. volonteshiva: Good thing you included the last two to be able to remotely qualify your use of the word "modern". Even Niels Bohr does not necessarily qualify as "modern". posted by knn |

The question of religious belief among US scientists has been debated since early in the century. Our latest survey finds that, among the top natural scientists, disbelief is greater than ever — almost total. The decline thru time is also remarkable. The claim that astronomers and physicists believe are more likely to believe in god than others is kind of proven: 7.5% as opposed to the average 7.0%. All figures are remarkable low. Please note that these are US scientists. Thus in other parts of the world (Europe) the figures will be even lower maybe. posted by knn |
