GP: volonteshiva: How are they getting what's coming to them? You filing suit with the Better Business Bureau or what? What's the 411, yo? allone, listen to the wise VS...report these assclowns to the BBB. I would say you have enough evidence to take to them to warrant an investigation, at least. From the sounds of it, these turkeys have been ripping off people for quite some time and nobody's done anything about it. Report their asses...and when their business is going "up in flames," be there in your Miata laughing hysterically. the more i think about it, the more i like the idea. i mean, wouldnt it be my responsibility to keep other citizens from becoming a victim like me? i think im going to make a couple of calls later on today. posted by allone |

volonteshiva: what is it that occurs?... hmm... Is it the period that you have to take a mandatory 3-day business trip? hehehe, and the fact that i like to "push buttons" doesnt help either. i prove to her each month that she changes and becomes...more aggresive. she hates that. its not so bad though, because she lives two hours away. we only see each other on weekends, which is good because she is really busy with her school work, and i work almost 50 hours a week. but we talk all the time on the phone, my parents even got her a cell phone on their plan so that we can talk as long as we want to without using up minutes... if she gets "it" on near the weekend, she usually just gets so mad at me that she says, i think i should stay here and get some more school work done. during the week, we just get off of the phone with each other. but she always wants to call back and debate something, like womens rights, or poverty and welfare. meh posted by allone |

I know that Knn will deem these posts off-topic and move them but... I'm really starting to believe that I'm the luckiest man on the face of the Earth. I can honestly say that in being w/my wife for 7 yrs. (2 marriage, 5 dated) she has never been the sterotypical woman during her "time." In fact, most of the time, I don't even know she has it until...well, nevermind. The only thing that I've noticed is that during her "time" she's clumsier (OK) and likes to sleep a lot (SCORE!). posted by GP |

allone: im not filing a suit or anything, im just a firm believer in "you get whats coming to you" kind of thing. ya BBB or AT LEAST talk to a lawyer man, THIS is a reason to sue in our country, not an easy money making scheme, but a legit reason to recoupe your losses. Most lawyers will give you a free 1st consultation anyway so why not just see? I'm not one to shout and yell when I'm at the end of a raw deal either but that's $1800 dollars man! You could put towards the miata! I'd check maybe small claims court or something or maybe you could even get on one of these daytime court shows oh and on an end note I HATE THEM TOO posted by The ONEder Man |

allone: anyway, they said that they found some other problems and went ahead and fixed them for me...even though they were never told to do so. This is VERY OFTEN the case with car repair shops. You have to tell them in CLEAR words that you want to have repaired what's on the list ALONE. posted by knn |

so i gave the shop a call to let them know that my car is already out of warranty (sarcastically). they told me sorry. i then told them that's a lie, and they put the wrong mileage on the invoice. they stood by their word and claim that was the actual mileage. so i asked for a fax number, they gave it to me and i sent a fax to them while i was on the phone with the manager. (i sent them the invoice from my last oil change that was 2600 miles ago, it had the mileage documented on it too, he he he) he got it, and i asked him how it is possible that two months ago my car had more miles on it than you say it had a couple days ago? he started to say that they must have made a mistake! before he could go any further i interupted by asking him if he was SURE that was the mileage on my car when it left, which was yesterday morning. he swears that my car was at 109000 miles. so i let him have my surprise. i faxed him ANOTHER oil change invoice...i got my oil changed today during lunch, just to have the mileage documented for proof. hahaha, jackass! i told him that oil change and mileage read was from earlier today, can you explain how i put over 11,000 miles on my car in less than 24 hours? he told me some smart ass remark about how i seem to like driving my car a lot...so i told him, do you realise that for me to put 11,000 miles on my car in 24 hours, i would have had to drive 458mph for 24 hours straight, non stop? he had no comment. after that i told him not to be surprised if he hears from my lawyer soon. i don't really have a lawyer one friend of mine brought up a nice little idea. he is a grad student in the communications department at my university. he knows some people at the local channel here, and does some work there. he suggested that he might be able to convince the local news channel to do an undercover investigation of the place, and i could be interviewed for the project. hehehe. posted by allone |

volonteshiva: Why not learn from them so that you can repair most basic things yourself, like bad gaskets? Even though this is still true, my foot is still slightly in my mouth since my car just fucked up and I couldn't fix it. I was getting no spark to any of the plugs. I tested everything I could to diagnose the problem. There was really nothing I could do, it had to be hooked up to a machine at a shop. However, what I did here was that I went to ♣ which are pretty much nationwide like AutoZone and the like. I have had decent experience with them in the past and did again this time. It took them a day to get to my car, but they did get back to me on a Sunday. It turned out to be a bad Crank Positioning Sensor, and they replaced it, promptly. It's wasn't "that" much $$, fortunately because it didn't require too much labor. So, I would recommend them for small things at least. posted by volonteshiva |

ok, i met with a lawyer this past monday and had a nice chat. i brought with me all documents that i had, proof of incorrect mileage, blah blah blah. anyway, to make this short; after some investigating, the garage (that claims to be a member of the BBB) is not a member of the BBB! my lawyer says he can be pretty pushy and is going to send a letter to the owner of the shop to explain some things. i don't know what will all be in the letter honestly, i just told my lawyer that i feel like i have been ripped off, wasted money that i could really use towards other things, and feel that these guys may have done this in the past and i don't think they should continue to conduct business the way that they do. he will update me in about a week he says. posted by allone |
