GP: As I've stated in other music-themed posts, I'm a big fan of Queens of the Stone Age...pretty much ANYTHING by them is great stuff, but their album, Songs for the Deaf, is fucking brilliant. Definitly, they are one of my favourite bands. posted by Kupov |

arkhamite: The Darkness! Heh, they're sort of cool, sort of got into them when I saw footage of one of their concerts last year. At the moment I'm listening to Fat of the Land by Prodigy... I forgot how fucking good Prodigy are. Also been listening to some Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned (the Prodigy Album), Snake River Conspiracy, The Shins and Mr. Bungle. posted by hungarian kid |

gkiss: our song selection seems so much different than everyone else's...i don't know about 3/4 of the artists mentionned here Yeah...I'm pretty much like anything except country and 80's hair metal. Seriously, my wife and I have like something around 2000 CDs. But, don't worry about not knowing most of the artists mentioned...most of the people here are pretty big fans of metal/hard rock...if you're not, that's cool too. posted by GP |

gkiss: um...does anyone here like will smith's songs? Umm nope. They're funny though. I don't listen to 'rap' or 'hip hop' or any further mutations of either or both. I like Don McLean's "Vincent".. some of John Denver's stuff.. I've heard Keane - "Somewhere only we know" is good. But I never associated him with Bono I've also liked Cold's "Year of the Spider" album.. Korn's "Make me bad", "Did my time", "Y'all want a single" (this video kinda rocks too), "No one's there"... Linkin Park, Marilyn Manson, Evanescence, Puddle of Mudd... *voice fades away* you know all that stuff. Also Dido, Avril Lavigne, Delirious, Finger Eleven, Disturbed, Drowning Pool.. again y'all know that. Sometimes I can stand Eminem, he's funny too. posted by ryder |

Actually old country can be kind of good: Hank Sr., Cash, George Jones...all had an influence on rock and roll, especially more traditional rock or roots rock...half the local rock bands we have down here sound like those guys with a little distortion added anyway...it's just that the "new country" sound is just crappy pop like a lot of the new R & B you hear...even though the original Motown and Stax R&B sound was much harder and more driving rhythmically...the old country and old R&B kick the shit out of the new stuff anyday. posted by arkhamite |
