You've started a post based on one of the sports (baseball's the other) that I live and breathe...college football! I commend you. Now, onto Mr. Clarett... While I feel sorry for him and his latest trials and tribulations, I'm not that sorry. This is clearly a case of "karmic retribution." Clarett was nothing short of a punk in HS and while at Ohio State. He abused people, his university, and the system, in general, for his own personal gain. Now that he's hit some hard times, we're supposed to feel sorry for him...uh, no. If I'm an NFL GM, there is no way I'd draft Clarett...period. posted by GP |

thanks GP, im pretty into sports anyways. i didn't know much about clarett's situation, so thanks for some background info. i never knew bulking up could cause you to be slower, though it is kind of obvious... one thing though, GP: He abused people, his university, and the system, in general, for his own personal gain. well, he accepted what they gave him. "they" meaning the school, boosters, etc. so he is not entirely at fault. what was he supposed to do? speaking of "they", some dude officially changed his name to "they", so that when people referred to the mysterious "they", they would be referring to him. posted by sangu |

this is not exactly the same kind of football, but there is nowhere else to put in. unless i should create a new thread about referees? it could be a vent thread...heheh. ill need that. so anyway this is an interesting article on referees. some new things ive learned, like the distance a ref has to run. i know they get easily abused and threatened, but they have to be actually fit. posted by sangu |

sangu: well, he accepted what they gave him. "they" meaning the school, boosters, etc. so he is not entirely at fault. what was he supposed to do? Sorry, but I vehemently disagree w/this. That excuse is BS. If you are a college athlete, you know that you're not supposed to take gifts, cars, money, etc. Justifying it by saying, "other's do it" is a cop-out. That does nothing but continue the vicious cycle and propagate the problem at hand. Those that say they didn't know it was illegal are pathetic morons. If that's the case, they shouldn't be in college in the first place because they're nothing more than a mercenary. posted by GP |
