I can't get it out of my head, that (should artificial intelligence be once developed) the words "and" and "or" are used differently by humans than what they mean. Examples: Question: "Will we go to the cinema today or will we stay home?" Human answer: "Let's go watch a movie" Correct/AI answer: "Yes" (Yes, we will stay home OR go to the movies) Question: "Give me 2 examples of illegal behavior" Human answer: "To rape someone and to murder someone" AI answer: "To rape someone OR to murder someone" Mathematically spoken the human answer gives only 1 example. I think this different use of the words "and"/"or" can lead to confusion when we talk to robots... posted by knn |

Language in general is a big barrier between us and computers. Human languages suffer in translation. posted by Tiefling |
