Thus let me clarify again: The bible does not condemn millionairs AND Christian denominations do not condemn millionairs. Thus you cannot conclude that Jesus was communist, merely because he stated that money is seductive. A lot of people can make statements like these without being communists. posted by knn |

Once again, though, that's theory vs practice. In theory, xians should be loving, non-judgmental, non-confrontational, honest, good people. In practice, we have the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Salem Witch Trials, etc. Clearly, Jesus wouldn't support the way Communism turned out in practice. posted by Tiefling |

Offtopic! Tiefling was arguing that Jesus said lust of a man for many women was a sin. Thus I explained that Jesus might have said that women may be seductive, but that doesn't make him a chauvinist. I wanted also to add that part of the communist systems as we know them is the inability to choose from different products. East Germany had only 1 car type. Russia had only 1 bread type. etc Thus choosing from different products (or buying where it's cheapest) is VERY CAPITALISTIC. Thus by saying that Jesus was a communist you say: Jesus would not support a free market with a variety of products with different prices. posted by knn |
