Stuff, 4/11/2005 By Stuff Editors “I love this bed,” says Shanna Moakler, lounging in the bedroom the former beauty queen shares with Travis Barker. It’s a room you’ll get to know during their MTV reality series, Meet the Barkers (premiering April 6 at 10 P.M.). The show is a voyeuristic view of her marriage to the Blink-182 drummer, who was storming around and shouting into his cell phone during our shoot. (We later learned it was because Blink-182 was “going on hiatus.” That’s what they said about our beloved Hawaii!) STUFF: You have a really huge mattress. Obviously, you and Travis aren’t broke yet, and he’s already famous, so why do a reality-TV show? SHANNA: So many people said, “Forget the Newlyweds. You guys are crazy! You need to do a reality show.” Trav was getting approached to do a lot of other shows, so he was like, “I’d rather be at my own house and do it myself.” Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson initially wouldn’t let the cameras into their bedroom. Did you give them any restrictions like that? The only place they couldn’t go was Trav’s bathroom. So how did Travis get to be such a lucky bastard? He’s very confident, and that’s one of the things I find most attractive in men. I was like, “God, look at him! He’s so cocky and confident!” I used to date Latin guys and cowboys. So I found the complete opposite—a white boy with tattoos and a Mohawk. Are there any sexual oats you wish you had sewn, premarriage? Trav’s very sexual. He can have sex 10 times a day. I’m supposed to be hitting my sexual peak, and I’m like, “You’re killing me!” So I get creative. I wear lingerie, or we have sundae sex with hot fudge and butterscotch. I try to do fun things to keep him interested. I love lingerie, corsets, and shoes and thigh-highs. Sometimes I’ll wear all pink; sometimes I’ll wear black dominatrix stuff and wigs. I always like to wear something sexy for him at night. Even if we’re staying home, I’ll put on a cami set. Do you worry about groupies? If a man’s going to cheat, he’s going to cheat. I do get jealous, and I have caused scenes. I have been with successful men, especially my ex [Oscar De La Hoya], whose whole thing was women loving him. I’m used to being with a guy who gets a lot of attention from fans.
