Bush 41 (the older Bush) didn't want to help Kuweit, but then a Kuweit PR agency setup the infamous incubator lie ♣ and the world opinion shifted. posted by knn |

The great Iraq War lie. The pictured girl told the world under tears that she saw how Saddam Hussein's soldiers took babies out of their incubators and let them die on the cold floor.
In November 1990 Bush41 told this lie to the poor soldiers. In truth she hadn't been in Kuwait at the time. The girl was in fact the daughter of the Kuwaiti embassador in Washington, USA. posted by Crossfade |

I doubt the incubator lie is called "the incubator lie". It's a lie involving an incubator. There's probably a billion lies that have been told involving incubators and I wasn't about to trawl through every single one of them! posted by fatpie42 |

Well, Google shows 88 results when you search for "incubator lie" and the FIRST link is already the correct. Never looked something up in Google? posted by knn |

Have you said anything yet that's more bullshit? probably not. I am an american and I remember the big stink being that Iraq invaded Kuwait. No one even mentioned this "incubator" bullshit. It was about the invasion, why is this so hard to believe. We DO care about the world around us. Why do you think we get involved in wars? posted by liberal slayer |

Quote: It was about the invasion, why is this so hard to believe The incubator lie was lied in the UN council. Bush senior was undecided what to do. The incubator lie turned around everything and finally flipped the last doubters: This story, told and retold, incensed the public and congress as nothing else had done. The Senate resolution to go to war passed by five votes. Six senators said the baby-incubator story had overcome their reluctance to send troops. posted by knn |

you have no point. No one has ever heard of this "lie" but you, and the fact is that if this was pushed before the senate (which you wouldn't know about anyway) it wouldn't matter. We were committed to defending the people of kuwait, because they were invaded. And even though you say that this story that no one has heard of and was of no significance was a lie, saddam has done plenty to his own people to merit taking him out of control. Clinton should have done it, but now bush has. posted by liberal slayer |
