kupov: Gearge Bush and Co did they (including his rich father and Jesus christ) won the elections , Bush just stood there like a good ol boy I would say, people voted for him because they agreed with where he stood on certain issues. Kerry was christian too. Not everyone voted for him because his father was a president. This is an immensely important job, only a few idiots here and there would vote for him simply because his father used to be a president. You cannot take George Bush out of the equation. posted by sangu |

sangu: Kerry was christian too. I never heard Kerry state that God wanted him to be president.Seriously Gearge Bush actually said that. sangu: I would say, people voted for him because they agreed with where he stood on certain issues. And I would say he did not actually stand on any issues but rather the people behind him did. sangu: You cannot take George Bush out of the equation. Of course not, people voted for Gearge Bush because they liked his personality and all the Christians (or at least many) voted for him, however I doubt he wrote his own speeches, planned his own campaign, or actually beleives that God wanted him to be president. posted by Kupov |

Kupov: Seriously Gearge Bush actually said that. proof? Kupov: And I would say he did not actually stand on any issues but rather the people behind him did. This is weak. Come on. So he has no beliefs. Kupov: however I doubt he wrote his own speeches, planned his own campaign Umm, everyone has their own speech writers and campaign planners. Kerry has them too, I'm pretty sure tons of people running for president had them. posted by sangu |

yep of course, but the original question was , does Gearge Bush have election intelligence, my answer, no the people working for him do. Thus my response still stands. sangu: This is weak. Come on. So he has no beliefs. okay rephrase that to he did not stand on any issues as he was portrayed too. sangu: proof? I dunno I saw it somewhere ask knn he said it was true and he always has proof. posted by Kupov |

Kupov: okay rephrase that to he did not stand on any issues as he was portrayed too. In which issues? Before we move on, I need to know exactly what election intelligence is. Knn? I'm guessing, it's how to campaign for and win an election. Even if a guy knows how to run an election, does that factor more than a guy's beliefs? posted by sangu |

knn: Being smart when it comes to know what brings the most votes. What do you say to kupov's point that it's not him being smart but his advisors? I'd like to think that, well with the exception of a few issues, where he stood came from what he believed. Kupov: I dunno I saw it somewhere ask knn he said it was true and he always has proof. did Bush say that God wanted him to be president? posted by sangu |

sangu: Kupov: I dunno I saw it somewhere ask knn he said it was true and he always has proof. did Bush say that God wanted him to be president? Did Mr. [G.W.] Bush ask his father for any advice? “I asked the president about this. And President Bush said, ‘Well, no,’ and then he got defensive about it,” says Woodward. “Then he said something that really struck me. He said of his father, ‘He is the wrong father to appeal to for advice. The wrong father to go to, to appeal to in terms of strength.’ And then he said, ‘There's a higher Father that I appeal to.’" posted by holy_of_holies |

That's pretty vague... holy_of_holies: There's a higher Father that I appeal to.’" and weak. Appeal can mean plead, ask, petition, demand, request, etc. Sounds like praying posted by sangu |

So, I don't think Bush said that God wanted him to become president. So... kupov: Gearge Bush and Co did they (including his rich father and Jesus christ) won the elections , Bush just stood there like a good ol boy Jesus is out of the list...and I think we sort of agreed that his father played a very small role. sangu: This is an immensely important job, only a few idiots here and there would vote for him simply because his father used to be a president. sangu: So, I don't think Bush said that God wanted him to become president. i heard it as well Stephen Mansfield, author of The Faith of George W. Bush, goes on to say: "Not long after, Bush called James Robison (a prominent minister) and told him, 'I've heard the call. I believe God wants me to run for President.' " Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention heard Bush say something similar: "Among the things he said to us was: I believe that God wants me to be president, but if that doesn't happen, it's OK.' Ok, so there's the correct, ahem, link. I say, so what? Was this splashed all over the news? The thing is, I don't see it making a very big effect. I see it as a very potential backfire. Kupov, I don't see how this proves that jesus helped win the election for him. posted by sangu |
