Salvation according to Christianity is based upon the following premises: 1. Humans are conceived as sinners: Psalm 51:5 2. Humans are born as sinners: Psalm 58:3 Romans 5:18-19 3. All humans have sinned: Romans 3:23 4. Only through Christ can humans enter heaven: I Timothy 2:5 John 3:3 5. Humans are not judged by their works, but by their faith in Christ: Romans 3:28 Ephesians 2:8-9 The consequences of this theology are that: - Infants who are too young to have accepted Christ go to hell for all eternity. IMO → Child Murder, the ultimate solvent - Humans who have never heard of Christianity (Native Americans before the arrival of Europeans, for example) go to hell for all eternity. in-my-opinion.org… - Moral, righteous non-Christians, such as Ghandi, go to hell for all eternity. Christians dispute these points, claiming that their god is not cruel and thus would not judge the souls of humans in this way. However, they forget the cruel things their god did in the Old Testament, having this mindset that it's somehow not the same god... We live in an era in which love and compassion are popular, and in which war and pillaging are unpopular. Thus, Christians redefine their god to fit the times, or assume their god holds the same ideals as themselves. Christians make excuses, justifications, and rationalizations about their god, based on their own modern morality. They know he's not cruel, so he wouldn't do the things listed above. Bring these points up to a Christian, and more often than not, the response you'll get is, "God wouldn't do something so cruel," or, "Well I don't know the answer. Ask God." But what Christians need to recognize, and come to terms with, is that the god depicted by their theology is quite cruel by human standards. Once the suppositions and assumptions about god are removed, and the actual text of the Bible is studied unbiased, this becomes very clear. It's easy to believe in a god that loves everyone and only performs kind, loving deeds. But this is not the god depicted in the Christian Bible. Christians are trying to transform their god into this benevolent deity, despite the evidence that their own holy book presents. posted by Tiefling |

Tiefling: Salvation according to Christianity is based upon the following premises: Which reminds me again of the following. Please do the following approach the next time you talk to a Christian: Tell him to argue but to not argue with the book of Psalms or the letters of Paul. Basically all argument chains are based on these 2 things: P+P (Psalms and Paul). posted by knn |

Tiefling: Humans who have never heard of Christianity (Native Americans before the arrival of Europeans, for example) go to hell for all eternity. Not neccisarily, christianity is hazy at best on that subject becasue it says the rapture will occur when everyone has had the chance to accept Jesus christ, so it does not paint a clear picture of what happens if you die without ever hearing of Jesus. Tiefling: But what Christians need to recognize, and come to terms with, is that the god depicted by their theology is quite cruel by human standards. Not only cruel this is a figure equal to Hitler think about it. 1.Only a select few deserve the right to Heaven 2.Controls everything ,people beleive he is a saviour 3.Everybody from a religion he does not agree with is sent to Hell 4.The people who recongnize his evil are branded wicked 5.Hates homosexuals And think about something that makes absoulutly no sense, the Jews were his chosen people and yet now they are abandoned by him and are going to hell, in favour of a new religion that took its place, even though an omnipotent God could have fixed judaism instead he cose to send them all to Hell and simply create a new Religion. Tiefling: Christians are trying to transform their god into this benevolent deity, despite the evidence that their own holy book presents. Christians are also trying to pretend evolution does not happen and the world is only seven thousand years old. posted by Kupov |
