All this talk about JK Rowling being Hitler and wanting to rule the world... Utter nonsense. She's just rich, you can say the same thing about Donald Trump, Bill Gates. However, I'm suprised during your excessive rant you fail to address the issue as to why I dislike the Potter series, which is. There is not a single original idea in the whole damn thing. It's just a dumbed down version of LoTR set in modern-esque times without the whole epic feel. Witches, Sorcerers, Giant Snakes = Boring, created in ancient Mythology... Compiled in LoTR and repeated extensively in everything from D&D(Dungeons and Dragons) to Saturday morning Cartoons. It's time to think of something new, not just take old ideas and make them cute and marketable to kids. Rowling is a genius for being able to get so rich off of being so unoriginal. Why do we have Complete Idiot's and Dummies guides? So that a maximum of people can access whatever we're selling. Why not make a version for kids? I certainly don't know many 'kids' who've read LoTR (hadn't heard of it before the movies either). Harry Potter is an entertaining read with no special philosophical intent/content. Why is that so bad? If you think such a work is a waste of time, remember you're not the only one who reads books. It iS hard to be original in the latter centuries, when most of the good stuff has been lapped up and regurgitated again and again. Rowling has been creative, and no "biased opinion" can take that away from her. What's wrong with obtaining a fee for accessing the original work you create? Of course, Rowling has taken it a bit far, but geez she hasn't sworn allegiance to the CC license, her profession is predominantly writing.
