World Press Photo of the year.
Quote:
at a holding center for prisoners of war, in the base camp of the US Army 101st Airborne Division near An Najaf, southern Iraq, on March 31. The boy had become terrified when, according to orders, his father was hooded and handcuffed. A US soldier later severed the plastic handcuffs so that the man could comfort his child. Hoods were placed over detainees' heads because they were quicker to apply than blindfolds. The military said the bags were used to disorientate prisoners and to protect their identities. It is not known what happened to the man or his son.

It really made me sad Sad

I hope you realize you are only seeing one side of the story. I agree, this picture is heartbreaking. But you have no fucking clue why this guy is in this "Prisoner" camp.

For all you know, that man could have had a cache of ak-47's and was handing them out to militants.

You just don't know, so don't go judging it. Your statement just boils my blood. I don't know why you think you can just look at this issue one sided.

And besides, this is WAR. That picture is absolutely nothing compared to what happens out there. you want heart breaking? Read the story of the Somali boy who shot his own father to death by accident because he was aiming at a U.S. soldier and missed.

NAIVE NAIVE NAIVE! Thumb Down Thumb Down

Yes, but...

...this is what Mr. Bush and his "War on Terror" causes.

He shouldn't have attacked Iraq in the first place.

What the...?

did it occur to you that this sort of crap would still be happening, regardless of whether or not bush had invaded iraq? Sadaam hussein would be doing this kind of shit and worse, and he wouldn't have any reason to hold back. this is NOTHING compared to what sadaam did. this is a mere shadow of the horrors he perpetrated. Ask and i'll give you some examples.
