 I've seriously reached my tolerance threshold for these things! WHY OH WHY do people have to send the same darned email to you, when they acknowledge the fact that it is
This is really weird! Just read it. I guess its important something good
will happen! LISTEN TO THIS LETTER AND GOOD LUCK! Sorry, but this chain letter is for real. Dear All,
this is a true fact And the classic THE MORE PEOPLE YOU SEND THIS TO, THE MORE LUCK YOU WILL HAVE IN YOUR LOVE LIFE. IF YOU BREAK THE CHAIN LETTER (IT HAS BEEN GOING SINCE 1997) YOU WILL HAVE BAD LUCK WITH YOUR LOVE LIFE FOR SEVEN YEARS. THIS IS NO JOKE… GOOD LUCK! Sure, capitalize, like that's going to get me to agree with you more. 
Typical, they say "OMG LOOK this is so KEWL and so INTERESTING" and say Jane Doe had bad luck with it, and John Whatchamacalit found his true love and Jacob Knowitall got his dream job and ooh this is all true. And then there's the mind-numbingly stupid 'message' of the mail, and then the characteristic "if you don't send it to... the sky will fall on you in 237 nanoseconds". 
Sure, there is occasionally the interesting 'trivia' or something actually funny. But all that is overshadowed in messages that just involve a lot of scrolling and some dumb wannabe-wiseacre comment at the end. It's really annoying to check your mail to see a friend who's mailed you after so long, only to realise it's a friggin forward. And some of them just contain pages of previous recipients and senders, and some are so garbled under formatting they consume so much space! And heck it is just so annoying to receive the same darn things umpteen times! Crappy chain mail

 ryder: It's really annoying to check your mail to see a friend who's mailed you after so long, only to realise it's a friggin forward. I agree with you on that. It really pisses me off. Some of them are interesting - but the interesting ones are usually hoaxes after I check them out on truthorfiction.com. posted by nocturnal_anonymous |

 I quite agree. And the problem is, senders usually get very offended when they're told that their forwards are hoaxes or unwanted spam. The response usually is, "Well fine I won't send you anything then," as if these senders lack the discernment to differentiate between a simple email and unwanted spam. The response usually is, "Well fine I won't send you anything then," as if these senders lack the discernment to differentiate between a simple email and unwanted spam.
Maybe they do! So you are saying my email to you about Penis Enlargement was a hoax/spam? Well screw you buddy!

Just received another one of those "My dad died on 9/11 and my mommy is in the hospital: for every email you send, the red cross will donate 10 c e n t s to us...blah blah blah"... Exactly - it's like these "friends" value their own egos and chain letters far above any real friendship. They are nothing but manipulative viral mind-games and they do break up friendships rather than secure them. When you never hear from a friend unless they send you a lousy chain letter, that's sad. And the way forwarders get all offended is sickening as well. Then when you find out they are continuing to send chain forward junk to other people when they could be sending personally written messages and really working at keeping a friendship going with you and their other contacts, is extremely frustrating and hurtful. posted by Capri |
