I'm tired and must sleep, and you are browbeating me becaue you don't like being insulted. I guess that's normal; however, this is not the insult thread, and constantly telling me that I am incapable of debate while you are continually debating me is rather contradictory.

I also suspect that you are more than one person using the same username, laugh if you will, because your writing style has changed and I did some textual analysis in college. But that is unproveable.

And I realize that I am not the best debater or science writer in the world, but I really have to say that a lot of the points you have raised are more political than scientific. Sometimes you touch on science, but usually you answer a scientific question with a political polemic, then pose a question of your own which always implies that your point of view, antipsychiatry, is the only acceptable one, and that because I can't answer all of your points, somehow I am incapable of debate. To tell you the truth, I am only interested in psychiatry out of personal necessity for survival, being schizoaffective, and really I like forensic psychology (the psychopathic personality disorder mainly) better than any of this. And I like paleontology.

And of course, there is the fact that you posted a personal statement of opinion ("hate crimes" etc.) on a Wikipedia article and denounced my criticism thereof as slander.

Plus you have threatened me with legal action on several occasions. Really I could care less about my legal status; however, I will tell you that if you didn't want insults posted on IMO with your name attached to them, you shouldn't have used your real name as your username. Change your username, and I will insult you by a different name. But make no mistake, I will insult you on this forum.

As already stated, you did far more than object to my charge against E. Fuller Torrey. In fact, you deleted a link to an excellent article by a Pulitzer-nominated journalist. That's vandalism on Wikipedia and you had no right to do that.

I'll post on whatever I want to post about. The topic was the "nature of mental illness." Psychiatric diagnosis, forced psychiatry and anti-psychiatry are all germane to that debate. The moderator has agreed with me on this.

Let me tell you a little secret about knn dear: he hates psychiatry so much he just might let you get away with posting whatever you want, whenever you want, wherever you want on this forum. Now, this is unfair. This is how the psychiatrists do it: Calling others mad. It's not fair.

It's not a religion, and there's not much science involved in the practice of psychiatry : it's about educating and helping people. I would go so far as to suggest that given what we know about mental disorders, and the amount of people the US has incarcerated for minor or drug offenses usually linked to substance abuse and/or psychosis, what we really need are more psychiatric hospitals and fewer cops and prisons. IMO, of course.
