If you are feeling suicidal, stay away from MindFreedom International, the Church of Scientology, and especially IMO new user "Francesca Allan," and tell somebody you trust (your doctor, teacher, pastor, rabbi, etc.) that you are feeling bad and need help. Psychiatry cares, antipsychiatry kills.

Hey, wanna see an antipsychiatry activist like IMO new user "Francesca Allan" get all hot and bothered? Mention the magic words: Ernest Hemingway ! "Francesca Allan" like all antipsychiatry activists will probably fall all over herself to say that he blew his head off because he was given electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) by psychiatrists. Not necessarily so. Hemingway clearly showed signs of severe and chronic depression (recorded in his memoirs of 1920's Paris, which were published as A Moveable Feast ) long before he ever was receiving any psychiatric treatment.

And while IMO new user "Francesca Allan" is still reeling from that stunning right cross to the jaw, finish her off with a lightning one=two punch of Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh and American explorer Meriwether Lewis , both of whom are recorded to have suffered lifelong patterns of painful depression, and neither of whom were receiving psychiatric treatment at the time of their respective suicides. This is proof positive that patterns of depression, left untreated, can lead to suicide without any psychiatric intervention whatsoever. If psychiatry is the cause of suicide, why did these two men, who never saw a psychiatrist, yet are now hailed as heroes and geniuses and therefore smart enough to know better, suffer so painfully the symptoms of chronic depression and eventually take their own lives? It is firmly established that in at least these two cases just among the famous suicides, psychiatry was not the cause. Imagine how many great lives psychiatry could have saved if it were not for the insidious forces of MindFreedom and Scientology antipsychiatry retarding development of new, lifesaving treatments by means of obstructionist political activism.

IMO new user "Francesca Allan" down for the count! KO! Still-undefeated MindSlavery brand psychiatry (TM) retains the title!

Holy, nobody ever suggested that psychiatry was the primary cause of suicide.

As for Ernest Hemingway, the fact that he wrote in his suicide note that he blamed his brain damage on electroshock would tend to suggest that psychiatric treatment was at least part of the reason he took his own life.

Lastly, I'm flattered by your attention but you should know that you look like a raving idiot. Are you holding yourself out as a psychiatric success story?
