A shar-pei that can speak English She'd be then really my best friend, we'd talk about men & male shar-peis; she'd tell me when she's to go outside, when she's hungry, what's her favorite movie & food; etc. That'd be fun [CLICK HERE TO VIEW THIS PICTURE] posted by a |

The fire-lizard, from Anne McCaffery's Pern books. Although looking back, her books are a bit juvenile, fire-lizards still take the cake for coolest fantasy pet. posted by Tiefling |

Deeindamatrix: a rat with wings...oh wait that's a pigeon! If i'd pick a 2nd animal too, it'd be a super-friendly, speaking great white shark & i'd threaten all the hot surfers, that it'll bite in their butts if they don't date me! [CLICK HERE TO VIEW THIS PICTURE] posted by a |

allone: animal that i would love to exist would have to be...dun dun dun, the perfect woman Huh? So a perfect woman is an animal? What would a perfect man than be? Dinosour? I am with Tiefling here, Tiefling: The fire-lizard, from Anne McCaffery's Pern books Ever since I read the books I wanted one... On the other hand, since they can breath fire, they could be dangerous to keep indoors. Actually, usual house animals taught to clean up after themselves would be cool. A cat without the usual cat smell. posted by mymla |

Kraken (plural) are a supposed type of sea monster of gargantuan size, said to have been seen off the coast of Norway and Iceland. It was supposed to be able to sink ships, and many writers today think the stories of the kraken came from people who had seen dead giant squid ♣ washed ashore on the beach. However, real giant squid do not attack ships and are actually kind of delicate animals. I used to be really afraid of squid and octopi when I was younger; maybe because my dad did some research on them in the 80's (lol, one of his students used to call him "Doctor Octopus.") Anyway, the fear of octopi and squid came out in my drawings as late as college. See: IMO → Footloosifer's College Octopus Mural in Chalk To me, there is no weirder-looking animal on the planet than these guys, so I think a really enormous and dangerous one would rock. A creature with a human's body structure, pterodactyl-like wings (that actually do fly the body-weight), blue coloured frogskin (to breathe under water with), a silky mane, vampire teeth, long bony fingers What would you call that? No reason why this creature SHOULD exist, however it is an interesting figment to toy around with. In terms of utility, though, I guess hippogriffs would do. posted by ryder |

Heh I love the aspect of the sea that it's so deep and vast that we can't disprove that these things exist at the moment. I really would prefer if people spent more money exploring the sea than sending people into orbit to do tests on ants... I think it's possible Kraken's do exist. What I'd like to exist, is sea creature a kilometre long and a quarter of a kilometre wide, capable of engulfing ships and wharfs whole but completely incapable of going onto land. With features never before seen on any living thing by man. Heh but the size I stated is probably a bit much, I got a little excited... posted by hungarian kid |
