Kim Basinger was the best, i think i like her this much b/c she reminds me of a cousin of mine who died in a ski accident at aged 25 Cry me a river
Then Michelle & Uma b/c they both were excellent in the "bad-dirl" characters.

I liked Kim Basinger's character the most. She's the only 'real' girl that isnt weird in any way, besides the fact that she chose micheal keaton over me.

Wish They All Could Be Gotham City Girls

Ugh who voted for Katie Holmes? She really almost ruined that movie for me. I had to console myself with the fact that in that movie she got drugged in a mental hospital with a weaponized hallucinogen and in the end had to go back to her shitty job with the Gotham District Attorney's office.

As I say on my blog,

The obvious choice for next Catwoman is Jaime King Θ from »Sin City«. Though Audrey Tautou Θ would be good too if they were going for the more authentic, brunette Selina from the comics.

In Batman: Year One , the comic book on which »Batman Begins« is based, Selina Kyle is a dominatrix and burglar by profession, but in the early Batman comics she was an heiress who liked to capture Batman and Robin and make them run obstacle courses. White laugh

One time Catwoman put them on a jungle island with a bunch of vicious tigers and such, and her minions stripped Batman and Robin down to just a pair of leopard-skin togas, but - and this was so stupid - she left their masks on. I have a reprint of that issue, and I would post an image of it but I can't. They look sooo funny running around that jungle island in their fur togas and masks.

A lot of Batman comics are good, but mostly the monthly issues are just filler. Frank Miller, Alan Moore, and a few other creators' adult-oriented graphic novels really invented Batman as we know him, and especially so with the female characters that everyone knows from the movies. Before that, Batman just had a cool name, car, and costume, that was about it. It's like, there were stories about Hamlet before Shakespeare wrote his play, but they were forgettable. It took Shakespeare to really bring the character to life.

I also kind of think the whole Gotham City idea is consistently marketed as a sexual fantasy for young males, complete with a homoerotic boy partner (Robin), a blonde reporter (Vicki Vale), a wicked dominatrix (Catwoman), and a serial-killer clown just to make things interesting (Joker).

I like Batman from a psychosexual perspective because I see it as a total refutation of the Freudian ideal of woman as wholesome, nurturing and maternal. Gotham City women are fiercely independent and sometimes a little odd, and really that's what smart guys want anyway. Bruce Wayne is not seeking his murdered mother in the women he involves himself with, as Freud would think. Bruce is seeking the central and overriding imperative of his life, thrills. The old Batman of the monthly series was a bad copy of Superman, all platitudes about law and order; the new Moore/Miller version is less concerned with upholding the law, and more concerned with confronting his own demons. No psychoanalyst could fix Batman; only the Gotham City nights can do that.
