Quote: Well, I still don't get why men themselves would want to wear a skirt. I mean, I get why fashion designers would want to sell the idea to men, that they could wear real cool looking skirts, but why wear those things at all? Try: - Comfort (especially if you're sat in a car). - Freedom of choice. - An alternative to trousers. - Dissatisfaction with the limited choice in clothing that men have. Much of men's clothing is drab, unimaginative and downright boring. I wear skirts, modern kilts - see and sarongs, keeping trousers mainly for work. I relax more, and am happier and much more comfortable in an unbifurcated garment (bifurcate = split in two). So, broaden your outlook, accept that all men (and women) are different and live and let live. If you are female and don't like skirts - fine, that's your privilege. If you are male, try a skirt. It won't turn you into a woman or make you gay. Once the 'isn't this naughty' feeling (remember, you've been told since birth that skirts are forbidden fruit) has worn off, you'll be amazed at how comfortable they are, and understand why many women abandon trousers in the summer in favour of lightweight, cool, comfortable skirts. And when you're sweating in trousers this summer, envy the girls in their skirts, and despise the this narrow-minded society that dictates how men should dress. Come on fellas, don't knock it before you've tried it. Charlie2008 posted by Charlie2008 |

Well said Charlie 2008. I like to wear a kilt sometimes and find it comfortable. I imagine that skirts are comfortable too. Trousers are boring and uncomfortable. I feel that Men need to fight for the same rights to chose what they wear that Women take for granted. Surely the dress code control freaks who want to keep men in trousers, should weild their desire to control others more usefully, to rid society of guns, knives and organised crime. (p.s. If I wanted to look like a woman, I would wear blue jeans). posted by Colin |

Go to a Highland Games (they have them in the US also), where men in kilts toss telephone poles end-for-end (I'm not kidding) and throw extremely heavy weights on the end of a four foot chain over a high-jump pole. Everybody has fun, there's always good beer and Highland Dancers. Fantastic time. Be there... p.s. technically, to be historically correct, you're not supposed to wear anything under your kilt. Makes sense when you're guerilla warriors chasing the Brits out of the Highlands... but, for those of us who might be offended, most wear skivvies... posted by gspears3 |

What's the diff? I wore one to a wedding not long ago. All of the guys involved wore one also. I was proud to do it. As it was my youngest son's wedding. I am 56 years old by the way. It was fun. And I would do it again in a heart beat. RKH. posted by randy 1 |
